Quel amour - what love. This particular "holiday" if you will, is one that is a constant reminder to me of grace. This year especially it has been full of reflection, discussion, and prayer, both alone and with close friends.
What does it truly mean to be loved by the Creator and Savior of the universe? A love that is so pure and so holy that I could never do anything to deserve it. A love that has nothing to do with rules or regulations - but rather freedom! Through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross we can come before the Creator and Sustainer of the universe and know that He cares for us! That His love is so powerful that not even the "laws of nature" could keep Him from reconciling us to God.
As I look toward resurrection Sunday - Easter; the day where we celebrate Hope. Love. Jesus. How can I find myself but on my knees. Jesus gave up everything - the comforts of heaven for the sickness, sweat, insults, pain, and eventual death here on earth - why? For love. For you. For me. Because we are so incapable of holiness and thus unable to even be in the presence of God Almighty. He came. He died. He showed His power in His resurrection. It is all about Jesus Christ. He is the reason for existence - to bring Him glory and to know Him more.
I find myself wondering if I live as though I truly believe all of this? Do I live each moment in light of the power of the cross? Do I seek to share that love - that incredible love - with everyone I meet?
If only I would realize how much it took to pay the price
Show me what it means to live my life a sacrifice
